Hei, I’m Rob(in), presently gainfully employed as a Leverhulme early career research fellow at the University of Sheffield. Before that my academic career was as a ETH Zurich research fellow, a postdoc at the University of Bergen in Norway, and a PhD candidate at the Scott Polar Research Institue, University of Cambridge.

My work uses numerical modelling and observations to disentangle how ice sheets move. In particular, I’m interested in the thermal state and basal motion mechanics of ice sheets and glaciers.

This site is largely to host photos (1, 2) so that I don’t have to use social media owned by billionaires (instead I’m using GitHub which is owned by Microsoft and an exciting array of institutional investors, yay).
